Tried this place as it was across the street from our hotel. Must say, HIDDEN GEM! The staff was awesome, knowledgeable, and VERY helpful! The charcuterie board was excellent, and they had an impressive selection of wine. One of our favorite spots this weekend. When we come back to NOLA, this will be a "must visit again"!
Highly. Recommend. -

This was my first time at the downtown location. Me and some buddies who work downtown had lunch at St. James Cheese Company. Overall, it was good but not great.
The store is nice and clean. They had a straightforward fast casual ordering system with patrons placing orders at the counter and then getting served your food at the table. Drink cups were for purchase and they surprisingly had blue Powerade which Adam S poured for himself.
I ordered the Hooks Cheddar Sandwich, which is a turkey sandwich with cheddar cheese served on a Ciabatta bun. The cheddar was ok. The turkey tasted like deli turkey which I have no problem with. The ciabatta bun is where they went wrong. It tasted a little stale. Sandwich overall, was underwhelming. My entire 3 star review is basically a 3 star vote for this sandwich.
I will probably repeat and try one of the hot sandwiches next time. Then again, there are a lot of placed downtown to eat. I am not too interested in repeating SJCC. -

Stats - Visited during lunchtime on a weekday with husband and two kids (10 and 7)
Environment - Clean, bright, modern, social, busy
Service - Slow but nice people. Line did not go very quickly.
Food - Sandwiches (panini with pesto and salami on it and the cold Italian one) were both awesome! Mac and cheese and grilled cheese for kids were meh...Cheese used was too strong of a flavor palette for them and not "cheesy" -

Awesome spot and absolutely worth the hype. I came on my lunch hour and it was busy but not crazy inside. You order at the counter and take your number to a table of your choice and then your food is served to you.
Unfortunately I was stuck behind a family who couldn't make up their mind, and with only one cashier that is kind of annoying. We ordered the hooks cheddar and a small Mac and cheese.
The sandwich tasted fresh and even the unassuming salad on the side was delicious (you can also get chips). The Mac and cheese was straight fire too! This place is super dangerous being so close to my job, I plan to come back many times! -

Can you ever really go wrong with cheese? I don't think so. Especially not if it's from here.
I stopped at this St. James location last weekend and was blown away yet again by the delicious cheeses and food. I got the manchego salad, and my dad got a smokey blue sandwich. Both of us were happy with our choices and left pleased.
Never have I ever had a bad meal from here or a bad bite of cheese made by them.
